Transportation & Parking

Berklee's campus is located a few blocks from Back Bay Station, one of the city's largest transportation hubs. It serves the rapid transit and commuter rail lines, local and regional bus lines, and national Amtrak and Acela train lines.

Other major transportation hubs in Boston, including North Station and South Station, also offer connections to local and national modes of transport. Berklee can be reached from these locations easily by use of the MBTA rapid transit rail line system.

Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), commonly referred to as "the T," is the primary public agency overseeing public transportation in the Greater Boston area of Massachusetts. The MBTA's extensive transit network encompasses three metro lines (Blue, Orange, and Red lines), two light rail lines (Green and Ashmont–Mattapan lines), and a comprehensive five-line bus rapid transit system (Silver Line). Additionally, the MBTA operates local and express bus services, a twelve-line Commuter Rail system, and various ferry routes. Through the MBTA semester program, students can receive discounts of up to 11% on fares. Request a semester pass through Berklee.

Parking

Many of the Boston’s residential streets are now “Resident Parking Only,” meaning you will need a permit to avoid getting a ticket. Learn more about resident parking permits. Parking meters are in operation Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Learn about using parking meters.

It is expensive to park for any length of time near campus. If you must park, the Haviland Street Garage at 7 Haviland Street is the most reasonable option: its weekday maximum rate is $23, and its weekend maximum rate is $15. It is recommended to research various parking locations and their rates before you plan to arrive in the area in order to find the best option for your needs.

Bicycle Pavilion

Berklee's bicycle pavilion, located at the corner of Cambria and Boylston streets, is open free of charge to all current students, faculty, and staff upon request. It provides a gated area to lock your bike, and requires access via your Berklee ID card.

Boston Logan International Airport
